RISE has a new Chief Executive

COSMIC is very proud to announce that our own Chief Executive, Julie Harris has been appointed as acting Chief Executive at RISE which is the regional body which supports social enterprises across the South West. Julie will be working at RISE part-time and on a one year secondment, and at the same time continue her key role in leading at COSMIC.
 
Julie explained “ I am very excited about working at RISE in the lead role in the coming year, and relishing the opportunity to help develop new plans for social enterprise at regional, local and national levels. I’ve acted as Chair at RISE for over four years now and during this time I have developed a real understanding of how important it is for social enterprises to benefit from the strong support, influence and communications which RISE has developed. This work must continue with a real sense of passion and commitment in the coming year as we face new challenges in economic and social terms; and I feel very ready for those challenges.”
 
I will remain highly committed to the work of COSMIC and to developing the next phase of developments for our business – which will include introducing new staff in the coming weeks to lead on some exciting new developments.  We already have progressed so much in the recent months and there are many developments which will result in new project work and new services being offered to our clients.
