What is Open Source?
Open source software is typically developed by a community of people who are linked, not by company or location, but by interest in the development of the project. More often than not, changes, upgrades, and even the main application itself, are developed by people who are simply volunteering their time. They are often simply working towards the ability to use a tool that does what they need it to do - rather than just for financial gain.
