The Rural Connection project
Cosmic's Digital Mentors are supporting the Devon and Somerset County Councils ‘Rural Connection’ programme to introduce fast broadband to digitally deprived rural areas. The project aims to provide free satellite broadband installation into many homes and businesses in four key areas of Devon and Somerset that currently do not receive broadband or where speeds are very slow. The areas are shown below.

Tooway Direct, will be installing the new broadband service via a satellite dish connected to the outside of the client’s property. There will be a tariff of charges for the level of broadband that the client can choose from. Cosmic’s role in the project is to stimulate interest for satellite broadband and provide workshops, seminars and one-to-one IT support to businesses and individuals in the areas.
Those eligible will be able to access for up to 8 hours of free Digital Mentoring support from Cosmic and attend a range of workshops through the Digital Mentors project being delivered by Cosmic to individuals, local sole traders, small businesses and trading organisations.
This non-biased technology training and advice can be delivered in workshops as well as one-to-one support depending on your needs and covers a wide range of IT topics
