The Venus Awards are a global annual awards ceremony that celebrates the success of women in business. This year, our joint CEO’s Julie Hawker and Kate Doodson have both been selected as finalists for the 2016 Venus Awards.
This is great news for Cosmic as we are carrying on our success from last year, where Julie won ‘Director of the Year’, a category in which many fantastic directors from the Devon area were nominated.
This year, Julie is a finalist for ‘Employer of the Year’ – a category which she has been nominated into for being a supportive and motivating leader of a successful team.
We asked Julie to share how she felt after she won Director of the Year at the 2015 Venus Awards, Julie said, “Being named as Director of the Year at the Venus Awards ceremony was such an honour. Having learned about the other finalists and their incredible achievements, I felt very proud to win the award, and all that it represented in terms of success here at Cosmic.”
Kate is also a finalist for this year’s Venus Awards and it will be her first time attending. Kate has been nominated for ‘Inspirational Women in STEM’ for being an inspiration to others by being supportive of those she works with, as well as going out of her way to help others. This category covers women working specifically in science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines.
This is brilliant news and we are all delighted that both Kate and Julie have made it to this stage in the 2016 Venus Awards, and we hope that they will both be successful in their categories.
