I oversee the Restart project and make sure that we are doing the right thing, in the right place at the right time. I manage a team of Digital Trainers who deliver training to our project clients across the county and ensure that project finances are accurately reported to the lead partner.
I enjoy my role as I can see that what we do makes a difference to people. It’s not like making widgets which are tangible and can be counted - this is harder and therefore more rewarding.
After University and 6 years of backpacking I worked for Thomas Cook for 12 years as a Project Manager. I used to plan the logistics of large movements including the England football team to the 1990 and 1994 World Cup and the British Olympic team to the 1992 Olympics. I left London and ran my own tour operator for 5 years specialising in organising large events to India and Australasia. I retrained to become a teacher and now combine my project management experience with helping people to learn.
Fun fact - I own an elephant in Chitwan Nation Park (Nepal) called Peter. (although it’s a she!)
