Sid Valley Memory Café is a long-established local charity supporting people living with dementia, memory problems, and their families across the Sid Valley.
Since opening in 2010, the organisation has provided a welcoming and supportive space where people can access friendship, advice, activities, and community connections.
Through regular events, volunteer support, fundraising initiatives, and partnerships with healthcare professionals, Sid Valley Memory Café plays a vital role in helping families affected by dementia feel connected and supported.

The challenge
Sid Valley Memory Café’s previous website no longer reflected the warmth, professionalism, and importance of the organisation’s work. The design had become dated, making it difficult for visitors to quickly understand the support available and take meaningful action.
The site also lacked clear calls to action, resulting in key information about donations, volunteering opportunities, and support services being harder to find. In addition, the event schedule was not presented in a way that made it easy for visitors to see upcoming activities and regular sessions, creating unnecessary barriers for users looking to engage with the charity.
The Cosmic solution
Cosmic worked closely with the Sid Valley Memory Café team to create a bespoke, modern website centred around the needs of its users. By carefully mapping key user journeys, we designed a clear and intuitive experience that helps visitors quickly find support, discover events, make donations, and learn more about the charity’s work.
The new website features prominent calls to action throughout, making it easier for users to get involved and support the organisation. A user-friendly events calendar provides clear visibility of upcoming activities, while a simple content management system (WordPress) enables the team to update information and manage content independently.
To ensure the charity felt confident managing their new website, we delivered an in-person training session in Sidmouth, providing hands-on guidance and support.
