Building Digital Confidence
for Life
At Cosmic, we believe that digital skills are life skills. Whether it’s staying connected with loved ones, managing your finances, accessing essential services, or finding new opportunities, being digitally confident is more important than ever.

We break down barriers
At Cosmic, we recognise that developing digital confidence isn’t just about learning how to use technology—it’s about breaking down fears, changing mindsets, and ensuring accessibility for all.
Our commitment to digital inclusion is at the heart of everything we do.

Why Digital Skills Matter for Life
For over two decades, we have been champions of digital inclusion, ensuring that no one is left behind in the digital world. Our work has supported unemployed people, older adults, neurodiverse individuals, disabled people, and those furthest from digital access, helping them build confidence and develop essential digital skills to engage fully in society
- Over 50% of people without digital skills struggle to access essential services, such as GP appointments, benefits, and online shopping.
- 1 in 3 UK adults lack the ability to perform essential online safety tasks—putting them at risk of fraud, identity theft, and misinformation. (Lloyds Bank Consumer Digital Index 2024)
- People with essential digital skills are twice as likely to feel financially secure and able to manage online banking, utilities, and budgeting tools. (Lloyds Bank 2024)
- Older adults (65+) who develop digital skills experience improved social connection, mental well-being, and independence. (FutureDotNow 2024)
How we help
Unemployed
For unemployed people, our work in Positive People, Restart and Work and Health programmes has provided the digital skills needed to access job listings, apply for roles online, and boost employability.
NEET
For NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) young people, we’ve delivered engaging digital training that opens doors to new opportunities, job readiness, and career pathways.
Older Adults
We’ve helped thousands gain the skills to video call family, book GP appointments online, and use banking apps safely—helping them stay independent and socially connected.
Socially Excluded
For people experiencing social isolation, we’ve helped them connect with their communities, access local services, and build digital confidence through tailored training.
Neurodiverse & Disabled
For neurodiverse individuals and disabled people, we’ve designed accessible, supportive, and confidence-building training to help them navigate the digital world at their own pace.
ESOL and Refugees
For ESOL learners and refugees, we have provided accessible, language-friendly digital skills training, helping individuals communicate with services, apply for jobs, access essential information, and stay connected with family and support network.

Essential Digital Skills for Life
The UK Government’s Essential Digital Skills (EDS) framework sets out the core skills needed to participate fully in daily life, covering five key areas:
The EDS framework covers five key areas:
- Communicating – Staying in touch via email, video calls, and messaging apps.
- Handling Information & Content – Searching for reliable information, using digital platforms safely, and managing personal data.
- Transacting – Accessing online banking, paying bills, shopping safely, and completing digital forms.
- Problem-Solving – Using digital tools to complete everyday tasks, troubleshoot issues, and access support services.
- Being Safe & Legal Online – Protecting personal data, avoiding scams, and understanding online risks.
For some, these skills are second nature. But for many, they remain a significant barrier to independence, confidence, and opportunity. That’s where we come in.
Reviews
Client Stories
“After I did the Cosmic session on how to get on to a video call, I applied for a job with a courier firm, and it was on Zoom. I got on the meeting and knew about things like the blurred background. It has given me the confidence to say “yes I can do it”, before I would rather a phone call because I’d be messing around with the computer not knowing what to do. I am hoping to become a private hire taxi driver and if not, I will consider more office/admin roles.”
