AI Made Simple – Simple, supportive workshops for people new to AI 

These free online workshops are designed to help people across Somerset understand AI in a simple, supportive and jargon-free way. Whether you are completely new to AI or just want to feel more confident talking about it, this session is a friendly place to begin. 

You do not need any previous experience or technical knowledge. 

In this workshop, you will:

• Learn what AI is and what it is not  
• Explore how AI is already used in everyday life  
• Understand some of the benefits and limits of AI tools  
• Build confidence in using and talking about AI  
• Ask questions in a relaxed and supportive environment

• Tuesday 2nd June – 10 am to 12 noon  
• Thursday 18th June – 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm

• Delivered online using Microsoft Teams  
• Beginner friendly  
• Free for eligible Somerset learners  
• Funded by Somerset Council through the Adult Community Learning Fund  

We help you build confidence with technology. Whether you’re just starting or want to get better with emails, Word or using the internet safely, we’re here to help. Sessions are small, supportive and free if you’re eligible.

• Some of the risks and limitations of AI  
• How to ask informed questions about AI

The focus is on understanding and confidence rather than technical skills.

Our experienced trainers use plain English throughout the session and explain things step by step. 

You will not be expected to understand technical terms or complicated systems. 

The workshop is designed to help people feel comfortable learning at their own pace. There will be opportunities to ask questions, clear up confusion and learn alongside others in a supportive environment.
