On the 25th May 2023 our joint Chief Executive, Julie Hawker MBE, was hosted in her visit by MP, Simon Jupp, at the prestigious No.10 Downing Street. Their presence, alongside business champions from across the UK, served as a testament to the thriving businesses and social enterprises in Devon, highlighting the dedication and entrepreneurial spirit which Cosmic has engendered over many years.
The reception was hosted by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt MP who said – “Local businesses are vital for our economy, our day to day lives and our communities. Creating jobs, supporting growth in a huge variety of sectors, their tireless hard work does not go unnoticed.
As Chancellor, I see the contribution that local businesses make across the country to all our cities, towns and villages and this is something we can all be proud of. Not only do they bring immeasurable value to the economy, but they are also the heart and soul of so many of our communities.”
At Cosmic, our passion has always been to foster digital skills, growth and innovation, and the opportunity to attend this event allowed Julie to connect with other business leaders and Members of Parliament which provided further inspiration and motivation to continue Cosmic’s work across the South West and beyond.
As we forge ahead with the next chapter in our business journey, Cosmic remains resolute in our commitment to collaborate with local businesses and social enterprises, empowering them to thrive in the digital age. By encouraging innovation, sharing knowledge, and providing support, we can collectively create a brighter future for our community and beyond. The experience of being represented at No.10 has only reinforced our determination to continue making a meaningful impact and to raise the profile of our local economy.
