By now many of you will have learned about the recent accident and injury suffered by our Chief Executive, Julie Hawker. She is now back at home and recovering well.
Julie fell whilst out horse-riding and this resulted in multiple fractures to her right leg. Following some swift treatment by local paramedics and an even swifter trip to RDE Hospital courtesty of the brilliant Devon Air Ambulance she was soon undergoing surgery and the repairs began. Since then Julie has had further operations to provide effective fixing to the bones and begins her rehabilitation at home this week.
She has been so pleased to have received all your messages, cards and support – “Its been a real boost to my state of mind in these past 10 days to have so many people sending best wishes and cheering me up. On email, Text, Facebook and Twitter. Thanks to everyone for lifting my spirits”
Julie will continue to work remotely in the short-term and is already considering research work into improving homeworking practices! She is available on email, phone and skype and will work very closely with Kate in the weeks ahead to ensure business-as-usual approach is adopted.
Bearing in mind the crucial role with the Air Ambulance service played in her care, Julie has asked if we could encourage everyone to consider new ways to significantly improve their fundraising. With this in mind if any of you have chance please do go along to their 20th year celebrations at Dart Farm on Saturday – http://www.daat.org/20th-birthday/
