Male Ally Network Cornwall: Using digital to support culture change and community action.
The Male Ally Network Cornwall is an ambitious initiative designed to help tackle violence against women and girls by supporting men to become active allies in their workplaces, communities and everyday lives.
Backed by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, the project needed a website that could explain the initiative clearly, encourage participation and provide access to training, events and resources. The challenge was to deliver a focused launch version quickly while creating a platform that could grow alongside the programme.
The challenge
The team behind the project had a clear vision but needed a practical, easy-to-manage website that could:
- Explain the purpose of the Male Ally Network
- Encourage people to become Male Allies and Champions
- Promote training and events
- Provide access to resources and toolkits
- Create a professional public presence for a new initiative
- Support future geographic expansion
At the same time, the website needed to remain simple and affordable to launch, with a structure that could be developed further as the programme evolved.
Our approach
Working closely with the project team, we delivered a phased WordPress solution that balanced immediate launch requirements with long-term flexibility.
This included:
- Website planning and structure
- WordPress setup and configuration
- A clear and accessible design
- Development of core page templates
- Regional content structure to support future growth
- News and events functionality
- Resource and toolkit areas
- Contact and engagement pathways
- Training and handover support
Alongside the website, we also worked on the visual identity, helping to create a distinctive brand for the Male Ally Network that could be used consistently across digital and printed materials.
The result
The new website provides a central hub for the programme, bringing together information, training opportunities, resources and calls to action in one accessible location.
Visitors can learn about the initiative, understand why it matters, access supporting materials and take practical steps towards becoming active allies within their own communities. The platform also gives the project team a scalable foundation for continuing growth, including future regional content, news updates and additional resources.
