I am responsible for the financial procedures, controls and reporting for key funded training projects.
My previous role at Cosmic for Positive People Devon and Somerset involved accurate completion of monthly financial reports within the guidelines of EU regulations and collecting data on project Cross cutting themes (sustainability, equality and diversity).
The impact the projects had on our participants really motivated me to do what I do. Although I am not on the 'front line' delivering support to the participants, I know that without the finance function, the projects would not be able to run as smoothly - therefore the 'background' roles really do support the projects success as a whole! I am also motivated to help Cosmic in reducing our environmental impact, by recording and reporting data, we can see where there is room to improve!
I completed Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business at College, then completed a two year Apprenticeship with an accountants in Exeter, where I earned my AAT qualification. A few years of various jobs after that, including working overseas in hotels as receptionist, admin and finance roles and interim manager for a Beauty Salon. In April 2018 I found my place at Cosmic.
I love spending time with friends and family as well as going out on adventures and exploring new places. I enjoy spending time outdoors and taking scenic photos. I love music, and pretty much always have headphones in... you could catch me listening to anything from the recent charts to Motown, soul and funk!
